Marion Center Speedway Gregg Satterlee does it again in the Lias Tire Latemodel’s feature. Gregg Satterlee has won his fourth feature in a row (not counting the makeup race that Dave Satterlee won) on Saturday night at Marion Center Speedway. The younger Satterlee from Rochester Mills started in the third row beside Dave Satterlee due to the pair winning their respective heats and the luck of the feature line up that inverted the first six cars. Once top point man for the division, John Britsky from Indiana started on the outside pole and jumped into the lead on the second lap after Bobby Stokes from Milton led lap one. After eight laps of leading the Lias Tire Latemodels, something went wrong for Britsky and his car drifted off the front stretch into the infield of the track. A caution flag was thrown and by that time in the race, Gregg Satterlee had made his way into second place, which put him in the lead for the restart. Gregg Satterlee continued the remaining dozen laps in the lead to get his fourth Lias Tire Latemodel victory. Matt Gaston who’s also from the Rochester Mills area, was tracking down Gregg Satterlee but ran out of time to catch the runaway Satterlee car and finished second. Dwayne Taneyhill of Bellwood finished third in the feature with Rod Phillips from Punxsutawney in fourth and Dane Laraway from Harrison City in fifth. Rounding out the top ten were Clate Copeman, Jerry Redden, Dave Satterlee, Ben Satterlee and George Fultz. Dave Satterlee’s heat win, placement in the feature and the breakdown of John Britsky secured Dave Satterlee’s Points Championship for the 2008 Lias Tire Latemodels. Britsky finished the points race 32 points behind the leader in second place. In other racing action, Scott Stein from Cherry Tree captured another victory in the W. G. Satterlee & Sons Street Stocks securing his Points Championship for the 2008 season. Stein started the race in fourth position with Jeff Taylor from Corsica on the pole. Taylor led the first eight laps of the feature until Stein overtook him. Taylor didn’t give in easily and continued to battle for the lead with Stein in front and Chris Snyder from Springdale all around Taylor even in front of him at times. At the checkers it was Stein with the win, followed by Taylor, Snyder and then Nick Goss from Punxsutawney and Mike Laughard from Twin Rocks. Sixth through tenth places went to Jason Fosnaught, Kevin Haas, Dave Potter, Jr., Don Waltman and Rick Henry. In the heat races the winners were Jeff Taylor and Nick Goss. Taylor and Goss finished the points race with only one point between them with Jeff Taylor over Nick Goss for second place. The Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic Limited Latemodels were next to take the track. Scott Alvetro from Reynoldsville led the feature from start to finish with Bobby Watt from Latrobe right behind him all the way. Rod Phillips from Punxsutawney easily won the points championship for the Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic Limited Latemodels with his third place finish in the feature. Bernie Whiteford and Jeff Weakland both from Hastings finished fourth and fifth respectively. Rounding out the top ten were Chris Johnston, Cory Wilson, Joe Valenti, Terry Rayko and Tyler Dietz. The heat races were won by Scott Alvetro and Bobby Watt who also finished the points race in second and third places behind Phillips-Alvetro was second. In the Pepsi Strictly Stock Feature, Brett Bingaman from Cherry Tree was leading the race from his pole position start until in the tenth lap he was passed by Tim Laughard from Johnstown. Trying to get his lead back, Bingaman was charged with a caution that spun Laughard the leader and put Bingaman in the back for the restart. With Bingaman out of the way, Laughard had to contend with Cory Kilgore from Kittanning to keep the lead, which he did for the win. Nate Smith from Glen Campbell was third and Justin Queen from Irvona who is the Pepsi Strictly Stock Points Champ, was fourth and Gregg Buterbaugh from Clymer finished fifth. The rest of the top ten included Gary Furman, Jr., Brett Bingaman, Tim Schreckengost, John Kitz- the second place points finisher just 21 points behind the champ, and Justin Waltman. The Pepsi Strictly Stock heat race winners were Brett Bingaman and A. J. Flick. Ray Hickok, Jr. was the big winner Saturday night in the Q-102 Front Wheel Drive 4 Cylinder Rice Burners. Hickok from Commodore won his feature and the Points Championship by taking the lead in the feature on the second lap after starting fourth. Hickok led all but the first two laps which John Ford from Kittanning had control of. Bob Pease from Blairsville finished second and Larry Depp from Punxsutawney was third. Fourth place went to Jackie Phillips from Punxsutawney who had purchased last week’s feature winner’s car (Jason Joiner in the old Tim Bish car) and fifth place went to Tina Weaver who was second in the Points Championship race. Rounding out the top ten are Tom Pavelko, Chris Hickok, John Ford, Craig Decker and Jon Lee. The winners of the heat races were Tina Weaver and Jackie Phillips.
